New Dan Snyder report makes Commanders' success even sweeter

The Commanders may have the country behind them when the two teams start in Sunday's NFC Championship Game (3 p.m. ET, FOX).
On Saturday, ESPN's Seth Wickersham and Don Van Natta Jr. ran an excellent profile into the mindset of former Commanders owner Dan Snyder, who sold the team to a group led by owner Josh Harris in July 2023, reflecting on Washington's remarkable success. The franchise is now just one win away from making it to the Super Bowl for the first time since January 1992, seven years before Snyder acquired it in May 1999.
A associate of Snyder's told a coworker, according to the report, that he didn't like the Commanders' playoff performance,
This rivalry feels even sweeter. And it will be even sweeter if D.C. wins on Sunday.
The ESPN report isn't all positive news for Washington fans who endured Snyder's problematic tenure. Wickersham and Van Natta Jr. also described Snyder's last-minute efforts to block the 2023 sale.
(Note: However, since there was the word "dim-witted" it was better to say "foolish" that its opposite in meaning)
During the early morning hours before the sale, a defiant Snyder was reportedly still in possession of the stadium keys and shouted that anyone going there "would be trespassing" on his territory.
"It's still my plan!" Wickersham and Van Natta Jr. quote Snyder as saying.
Fortunately for the league and Commanders fans, Snyder ultimately backed down, allowing the team to experience a remarkable turnaround.
As much as everyone connected with the NFL would hope to distance themselves from Snyder, the ESPN report shows that he's still a persistent presence in the league.
Snyder is involved in multiple unresolved legal disputes and is under investigation for allegedly engaging in "deceptive business practices" during his tenure running Commanders.
Washington, D.C. Attorney General Karl A. Racine filed a lawsuit against Snyder, the NFL, and commissioner Roger Goodell "for colluding to deceive District residents."
The problems surrounding Snyder are ongoing for the NFL, but the Commanders are going about their business just fine without him.
This season, Washington gained 12 wins for the first time since 1991, a year in which the franchise last made it to the NFC championship game. It's no coincidence that the Washington Commanders' fortunes have improved so quickly after the owner sold the team.
As bad as he was as an owner, Snyder is similarly inept at parting ways (with players). Rather than being upbeat for the Commanders, he prefers to see them as unhappy as he is.
